Daniel Wells, Jr. of Milwaukee filed to organize the La Crescent Bank on June 6, 1859 with a capital of $25,000. On June 28, 1859 the auditor authorized American Bank Note to engrave a 1-1 plate and print 12,500 impressions. The bank never opened for business.
