The endorsement on a surviving note reads “I will give the bearer Ten Dollars in Gold in exchange for this bill if presented for that purpose at Borup & Co’s. Bank Saint Paul M. T. at any time from the twentieth day of June to the first day of July A.D. 1858. Lyman C. Dayton”.
