Loren Fletcher was listed as owner of a dry goods store in 1860s business directories for Minneapolis. His store was located on Bridge Street between First and Second. He employed clever use of remainder notes from the spurious Merchants and Mechanics Bank of Saint Anthony Falls, the village located across the river.
