Henry Foster ran a small store in the village of Tivoli in Blue Earth County. Henry, his wife Elizabeth and seven children came from Trumbull County, Ohio, and moved frequently between Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota. They moved to Blue Earth County and decided to make it their home by the 1860s. By 1866, Foster was listed in a business directory as an Indian Trader at Winnebago Agency in Blue Earth County.
