William B. Shute and A. H. Linton of Saint Paul filed to organize the Stearns County Bank on July 6, 1859 with a capital of $100,000. On July 1, 1859 the auditor authorized American Bank Note Company to engrave a 1-2-3-5 plate and print 2,500 impressions totaling $27,500. The bank never opened for business.
