Henry R. Reed of Cincinnati and Rufus Reed filed to organize the Northern Bank on October 6, 1858 with a capital of $25,000. The auditor authorized American Bank Note Company to engrave a plate for the Northern Bank on October 12, 1858. The bank ordered a 2-5 plate and a printing of 7,000 sheets amounting to $49,000. The bank never opened for business.
